Oppose the continued operation and ESPECIALLY the expansion of the BrightSource solar project in Ivanpah Dry Lake in California. According to the AP (Aug. 18th, 2014), US Fish & Wildlife Service staff observed 1 bird every 2 mins.being scorched to death (or to the point where they fell & slowly died) after they flew over the solar array. The array is not composed of solar energy collectors, but instead of 300,000 garage-door sized mirrors that reflect/concentrate the sun's power up to steam generators that are 40-stories up on towers.
Unless the corporation can engineer an immediate mitigating "fix", it should be shut down. This facility is violating international treaties, federal & state wildlife laws, and probably laws on humane treatment of animals. Let's use solar collectors instead.
