Oppose Fast Track authority for trade agreements (TPP) that seek to bypass Congress and public debate and accountability

We oppose Fast Track, Trade Promotion Authority and any other proposal that empowers executive branch officials to skirt scrutiny by Congress and avoid public debate to railroad into place job-killing trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Secretive "trade" agreements written by large corporations & executive branch officials will allow multinational corporations to sue governments — in clandestine, foreign tribunals — demanding taxpayer compensation for profits they allegedly lose over health and safety, environmental, financial and worker protections we all rely on. Our domestic federal, state & local policies would be required to comply with TPP rules & roll back a wide range of non-trade policies which currrently protect families, jobs, communities and health.
