Fast Track Trade Authority would nullify our checks & balances system, destroying Congress' ability to safeguard the American public and represent our interests. It is unacceptable that unaccountable trade negotiators would be empowered to unilaterally determine the contents of U.S. trade agreements, or that agreements could be signed and entered into without comprehensive and thorough oversight by Congress, which is what Fast Track would authorize. Previous trade agreements implemented under Fast Track have led to millions of jobs offshored, & uninspected products that do not meet our safety standards. For example, this TPP agreement could give Big Tobacco grounds to sue countries for implementing lifesaving health measures. Oppose establishing Fast Track Trade Authority of the TPP!
