Oppose 1599! Under H.R.1599 the Secretary of Agriculture will have authority to radically speed up the approval process for new GMO crops; limit the FDA and USDA’s ability to conduct premarket safety reviews; declare GMO foods “safe”, and forbid states from labeling GMO foods or enforcing existing labeling laws passed and overturning others.
This is a blatant power grab to deny Americans their basic right to transparency, and mandatory GMO labeling, as well as inversely protecting flawed GMO products... all while hiding under the guise of protection of consumer rights. Please leave States with their right to label GMO's. Oppose 1599!
