Oppose the merger of Comcast & Time Warner Cable that reduces competition & negatively impacts crucial public utilities

Created by R.B. on April 30, 2014

With the merger of Comcast and Time Warner Cable there will be a consolidation creating a near monopoly in many major markets. The cable/internet industry is the equivalent of the banking system in the 20th century - created to support the growth and expansion of commerce in both the US and abroad. The current banking system, where a few "too big to fail" institutions dominate the banking system and ignore their basic function to serve the public will be replicated in the cable/internet industry if this consolidation is allowed to go through. The current levels of poor customer service and shady business practices will only be encouraged if Comcast can gain an even more dominant position in what should be viewed as a utility for the benefit of the populace as a whole.
