As New York City Police Commissioner, Ray Kelly was the man behind NYPD's "stop and frisk" policy, which allowed the NYPD to routine stop and search anyone without probable cause.
In the last ten years there have been over 3.8 million illegal stop and frisk searches. We do not want the man that allowed that policy to continue in New York to become Director of Homeland Security.
Imagine being routinely searched anytime you're out walking. People of New York City have been living in this prison-like atmosphere for over ten years. We should not let that become the standard in the US. Oppose Ray Kelly as director OF Department of Homeland Security.
