oppose S. 1747: Computer Professionals Update Act.

Created by A.E. on December 02, 2011

A bill to amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to modify provisions relating to the exemption for computer systems analysts, computer programmers, software engineers, or other similarly skilled workers.

This proposed law would eliminate overtime protections for hundreds of thousands of information technology workers. Corporations in this country are enjoying the highest profits and lowest tax rates in decades and still they refuse to hire new employees and help get this country out of the recession. Now apparently some want to take away what little compensation you do get for working longer hours. Tech jobs in this country already pay lowest wages due to outsourcing. It's not right that the America worker should have to shoulder the burden yet again for corporate greed.
