Consumerfinance.gov stated back in July 2013 that a few months before, student loan debt was approaching $1.2 trillion, the second largest amount of debt held by Americans behind mortgages. It is now 2015 and is time to address this every growing problem. A bailout for the students would be beneficial because WE are hindered in our purchasing power. Instead of boosting our consumption-based economy by buying new cars, new houses, anything else we might desire, living independently, and pursuing our passions, we are stuck with jobs we don't want but are "experienced" enough for, living with parents or relatives, and giving our paychecks away to student loan debt. The auto industry and the banks have been bailed out, isn't it time we help the students before this bubble bursts too?
