Star Wars kicked off a new era in cinema, the era of the Blockbuster Franchise. This new way of creating art through film is a great source of pride for America & would not have been possible if, among other things, three amazing characters had not been the focal point of the original Star Wars Trilogy. The long awaited sequels are finally being made & the new people involved don't have the same respect for this wonderful creation, and already one of these three original characters, Han Solo, is dead. Rumors are out there that Gen. Leia will die in the next film, & one can presume Luke Skywalker will be killed in the 3rd sequel planned. These 3 characters are icons of American cinema & should be treated with greater respect as should the fans of Star Wars & American Cinema.
