It is no secret that many young people find themselves in unprescedented amounts of both secure and unsecured debt at an early age. If we were to implement a Bill requiring students to take a "Credit and Debt Responsibility" course, as early as 9th grade, this may help to cut back on the great many defaulted loans that have contributed to our recent Recession.
This form of education would possibly be just as effective with adults in the form of a "Credit Counseling" prerequisite to formal loans.
