Order the Nationa Flag to be flown at Half Staff on World AIDS day

Created by A.W. on April 03, 2013

World AIDS Day, established by the World Health Organization in 1988 to provide individuals and organizations with an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of the fight against HIV/AIDS, is observed annually on December 1. One way we can do that is to fly our National flag at half mast on World AIDS day. Only the President of the United States may order the flag to be at half-staff to honor the death of a national figure. With an estimate of more than one million Americans living with HIV/AIDS, and more than 600,000 US citizens dead from AIDS, I believe it would be appropriate for the President of the United States to order the Flag be flown at half-staff on World AIDS day from Sunrise to Sunset.
