Mr. President,
we the people of the United States of America ask that you order the nation's flag be flown at half-staff for a duration of time to honor the memory and legacy of Chief Petty Officer Christopher Scott Kyle. Mr. Kyle is a true American hero, saving countless American lives and the lives of many coalition forces troops. Mr. Kyle served in every major battle of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During four tours of duty in Iraq, Mr. Kyle was shot twice and caught up in six separate IED explosions while assigned to SEAL Team 3, Sniper Element Charlie platoon within the Naval Special Warfare Command. As do many of our nation's military veterans, Chris Kyle served his nation valiantly and selflessly showing great patriotism and honor. America owes Mr. Kyle and his family this honor.
