Because of the limited hours that Post Offices are now open, the removal of the self service stamp sales machines adds both a burden to the counter workers and a delay to the customers of the Post Office. Currently all customers, even those needing a single stamp, must wait in line to purchase that stamp. A self service machine would allow people to bypass the line, or purchase stamps when the counter is closed.
