Secretary Salazar has ordered the destruction of abandoned oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. In doing so he has caused the death of thousands of Red Snapper, grouper, sea turtles, crustaceans of all types, and corals that have made these rigs a habitat for more than 30 years. In a video recorded on one of the contracted vessels to destroy these rigs, thousands of Red Snapper can be seen floating to the surface after the explosion.
