Last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League released new logos and uniforms designed by Nike Inc. The changes are drastically negative.
What was once a cohesive and modern-classic logo evoking a tattered and worn pirate flag has been turned into a candy apple Terminator ripoff.
Perhaps somewhat simple, but lasting uniforms, featuring red, black a unique pewter, and a hint of orange, have been discarded. The new uniforms feature an overload of pewter, now too dark to be distinguished from black, the addition of silver, more orange, brighter red, and terribly wacky designs. By far the worst feature is the alarm clock number font. Are these time-pirates?
We petition Nike and the Buccaneers to withdraw these changes to the logo and uniform. Please try again.
