Organize an investigation to define Emergency Medical Services at a national level for improved response nationwide

Created by L.S. on December 16, 2012

We are petitioning the Obama administration to finally create a nationwide identify for the profession of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). For too long has EMS struggled to define itself as a public safety, healthcare element, and highway safety profession. Since it's inception in the 1970s, it has been left to State governments to determine what EMS in their respective states will be. Crossing a state line can dramatically change the EMS response that will be received by those in need. This can even go down to the county and town level. People from different states get sick and injured the same way, and the care provided to them in their time of need should always be at the highest standard, no matter where they are. It is time for a united front of American EMS front.
