Our Congress is here to "Serve" the "People", their pay scale should be identical to that of our Military Officers.

As it stands, Congress' pay is excessive for a public position. They take the positions they are in to help and "Serve" the public. These positions should not be about money or power. Their pay should be based on the same Military Officers pay scale, further, their retirement and benefits should be the exact same as well. Each member of Congress, including the President, are vested in other business' and/or financial situations and are not dependent on the pay received from their public sit. These people are no more special than Officers serving in our Military, so why are they paid more. Fact is that they should not. There is no reason for their pay or the Country's debt to be so high. It should be about "SERVING the PEOPLE" not making them poor, and struggle more. FIX THIS PROPERLY.
