I find that our government, though it is great, is far from where it was intended to be, and quite frankly there is no one to blame but ourselves. We as citizens have sat blind to our own laws that we created to govern ourselves. We, the citizens, are the government. The government is made from us citizens. It doesn't exist without our say, it holds no merit if we don't believe in it. Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers and the 3rd president, stated in the declaration of independence, " That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it." I want my fellow citizens to understand that we give the power to govern. It is our responsibility to ensure its proper use and course, and to alter it when fit.
