Our current understanding of the economy is taught to us in a manner which depicts the consumer having unlimited wants with limited resources being available. This view persists in the consumers view of a flawed economy. The view needs to be changed depicting the environment providing limited resources, and thus is the responsibility of the consumer to limit their wants. Ethical standards can be reaffirmed, conditioning the view of the consumer as part of the economic system with necessary ethic values necessary for a persistent, sustainable economy to take shape.
