Currently, most states have laws that are known as "Ballot Access" laws. These laws hinder the ability for "third party" candidates to make it onto the ballot in elections, thus keeping the two parties in power and preventing real alternative ideas from entering into the arena. These laws hinder and prevent true representation and are only beneficial to the two parties currently in power.
All candidates for a specific office should have the SAME requirements, regardless of party (or lack thereof).
