The goal of this petition is to prevent large businesses and the individuals that control the majority of our nation's wealth from making large contributions in support of a political candidate.
Money from big business and the "1%" disproportionately skews what a politician represents. For example, if "Big Oil" was supporting a politician with large cash payments, that politician is more likely to try to stop reforms to industrial waste management and environmental reforms. This is what this petition aims to stop.
This type of corruption within our political system is causing important issues like environment and medical reforms to slow to a crawl and hurts everyone in the long run. Let's put an end to this insanity now for the good of all Americans!
