Grover Norquist is an opportunist who has never entered the political system to put his ideas up for traditional American democratic process. Instead he has usurped immense power through an anti-tax pledge scheme which is the very source of the artificial economic battles Pres. Obama has been cornered into enduring. No authority has challenged whether this un-American blind "totality" pledge has ever really been about taxes or is just a ruse to starve the US government so he can fulfill former Pres. Reagan's misguided assertion that "government IS the problem" and as he has admitted, "shrink the government until it can be drowned in a bathtub". No one but low scruple dullards or reckless ideologues would sign that pledge and thus, over 16 years, Norquist has built the reckless obstruction
