Outlaw breed specific legislation in the U.S.

Breed specific legislation (BSL) is unfair to both animals and their owners. Blaming violence of a dog attack solely on breed is ignorant. Not only is BSL ineffective at keeping a community safe it is also extremely costly.
It is costly to the city, between tracking down the "dangerous" dog, euthanizing it, and disposing of the body the cost can get up to $60,000 for just one animal. It is also costly to the owners when they are forced to relocate to an area that is not governed by a breed ban.
Research shows BSL to be ineffective at reducing the incidence of dog attacks. The Netherlands for example repealed a 15 year breed ban because they did not see a decline in dog related attacks.
Breed neutral laws are a better way to keep a community safe by focusing on responsible ownership.
