Outlaw brominated vegetable oil, a toxic chemical found in various drinks

Created by E.P. on November 26, 2012

Brominated vegetable oil (BVO) is found in various citrus sodas and other drinks. It is a chemical that has already been outlawed in over 100 countries. Those countries have replaced this toxic chemical with natural substitutes that have the same properties but are not harmful. BVO is a threat to human health. Over time, it can build up in human tissue and cause many problems. Among these are memory loss, tremors, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea , cyanosis, and many others. Many people do not know about BVO and its risks, and the FDA does little to inform or protect them. Drinks including mountain dew, fresca, fanta, and gatorade are predominately consumed by our youth. This means that the future generation of America is especially in danger. BVO should be outlawed in the United States.
