Outlaw burning of agricultural fields in the Imperial Valley, Ca. This creates horrible pollution and increases asthma

Farmers in the Imperial Valley are allowed to burn fields after they have been harvested in order to "return nutrients to the earth." This practice is absolutely devastating to the environment and to the health of the citizens of Imperial Valley and Souther California. Burning fields releases enormous amounts of smoke into the air. Asthma rates in children and adults are among the highest in the Nation in the Imperial Valley. The Imperial Valley also has one of the worst air qualities in the nation due in large part to field burning. There are many other ways to return nutriens to earth, such as the addition of fertilizers, but farmers choose to burn fields because it is cheap and they are allowed to do this. Please help stop this horrible practice.
