There is no medical reason in this world to circumcise a perfectly healthy male (or female). Circumcision is a cosmetic procedure. If a male is born without a foreskin, it is considered a birth defect. There should be no religious exemption regarding circumcision. One persons religion ends where another persons body begins. For every study claiming a benefit of circumcision, there is another showing the detrimental effects. Unless there is a medical emergency requiring the amputation of the foreskin, the choice to remove a functioning part of the body should be left to the individual when he or she is old enough to fully understands the risk. Approximately every three days an infant dies from routine infant circumcision. Stop this practice before another life is needlessly lost.
