Despite our international influence, the United States remains one of the only developed countries where the death penalty remains legal. Furthermore, certain states allow capital punishment for minors. As citizens, we ask the government to stand by the unalienable right of life and allow the prison system to reform rather than expunge the life of a person who has been influenced by circumstance and is too young to understand the gravity of their crime.
