Outlaw denial of use of private physician for biometric screening to qualify for employer based insurance discounts.

Created by B.W. on April 08, 2014

This is the first year in my career that employers, using Wellness programs to qualify for group health insurance discounts, have disallowed the option of using your own doctor for biometric screening tests during enrollment. Even if that doctor is in your group insurance network. Every year the employee is required to do more and have access to less to qualify for the better premiums through employer plans. It makes absolutely no sense for an insurance company, testing lab, or employer to deny the right to your own doctor, especially if it is a network doctor. The spirit of employer based group insurance is not being honored with extreme restrictions on choice in the name of "Wellness". This is a slippery slope.
