America is suppose to be a government BY the people. The electoral college was established as a part of a system of checks and balances. The EC is the governments check on the people. The check does not make sense however. The people should be able to say who their president should be, unlike in the 2000 election when Gore won the popular vote but Bush won the College. That is not right. The way the EC works, every person in America could vote one candidate, yet the other candidate win if the EC so chooses to elect him or her. That is not democracy. It is time we stop allowing the Electoral College to select our president. This is not constitutional. The people have enough "checks" on them as it is. Give us our Democracy or give us death!
