Outlaw gerrymandering and redistrict all US congressional seats based purely on non-negotiable equitable boundaries.

Created by M.G. on March 01, 2013

We all feel that Washington is too polarized, and that our representatives are only worried about who is going to reelect them locally, and not on working for the greater good. The main reason is gerrymandering has created districts that are safely Republican or Democrat with little chance of opposition. This creates an environment where our elected officials lose touch with what makes sense for the country, and instead work on sound bytes that inspire their home base. Eliminate gerrymandering, redraw district lines in an arbitrary system of grids equally laid out, and magically this insensitivity to national needs would go away. It is completely fair, open and above reproach. Let the best man or woman win, and allow them to work for the nation - not just their constituents at home.
