By now, every American has encountered the high intensity discharge xenon bulb while on the road. These lights, which are white-colored and bright in appearance, have been touted as a better alternative to the traditional yellow-colored halogen bulb because xenon bulbs give the driver greater visibility.
...But is this a good thing? Absolutely not.
These xenon bulbs are hazardous to our fellow travellers. It is much harder to see when these headlights face one in oncoming traffic. According to studies, xenon lights may make great headlights for the driver, but they will also impair the sight of everyone else - particularly the elderly, who are already at risk.
This issue is easy to resolve- xenon lighting for civilian vehicles should be prohibited. Our roads should be safe for EVERYONE!
