Outlaw the large-scale private funding of political campaigns in an attempt to combat corruption.

Created by S.C. on April 14, 2014

It appears to many that the U.S. is slipping away from a constitutional republic, and heading towards an oligarchy. Throughout history, oligarchies have been linked with political corruption that often results in the fall of a nation. With the large-scale funding of campaigns by large businesses, politicians that pursue the interests of a minority are granted greater campaign capability, and therefore a better chance of making it into office. If this system were to be eliminated, the grounds would be leveled, so to speak. Large advantages based on monetary power would be greatly cut down. Funding for campaigns could instead be pulled from smaller scale donations by smaller businesses and groups of supporters, or like contemporary nations, from the government.
