Lobbying has destroyed the political process. We are now, essentially, an oligarchy, as shown in this study (http://www.princeton.edu/~mgilens/Gilens%20homepage%20materials/Gilens%2...). The government no longer represents the average citizen: rather, they pander to the interests of the wealthy and powerful. Notable examples of this abuse of power include: The Koch Brothers fight against taking action on global climate change, Comcast and its cronies attempting to create monopoly over data service and providers, and many many other overly powerful groups. This is an injustice to our country: and we can fix it. One man who led the way was Teddy Roosevelt: while this is a different time, his policies still hold value today.
