This country should not be catering to the rich and the wealthy -- those individuals and corporations that can afford to make large donations to campaigns. If contributors wish to back their candidate, they should be required to do so anonymously to ensure that no influence is made on the legislator's decision. The act of disclosing how much money was donated by a particular person or company should be a crime. Governance should be based on the will of the people, not the checkbooks of the rich.
