De-clawing cats is considered animal cruelty in many countries ,so why allow it in the U.S.A? It's not just filling a nail it the amputation of the last bone of each toe. It is an unnecessary surgery that provides no medical benefit to the cat. We do not Do this to dogs or any other animal. Either with the laser or the knife its still cutting away part of the bone each claw comes from. A painful unnecessary amputation to a defenseless animals. They have to learn to walk again because their paws/toes used for balance. It should be banned in the USA just like it is in England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand.
