Non-disparagement clauses are written into the often lengthy terms of service agreements in an attempt to prevent negative reviews of services rendered. These non-disparagement clauses are a clear violation of free speech and a free market. Companies can add a non-disparagement clause, provide inadequate services, and then charge or sue a customer for leaving a true and accurate review of those services.
This practice has to stop. Customers should always be free to leave an accurate review of services rendered.
