We the undersigned petition this administration to outlaw that insidious form of domestic terrorism known as the Home Owner's Association.
These for-profit organizations operate as a form of legal protection racket, collecting onerous dues, levying fines, and even placing liens on property, in exchange for no tangible benefit to their often-unwilling members.
Their bylaws are often vague to the point of being ephemeral, and their enforcement, or lack thereof, often motivated by greed and/or personal vendetta.
HOAs operate as a de facto local government, without being subject to the financial or electoral transparency expected of the real thing.
In short, they are a leech on honest, hardworking Americans everywhere, and they need to be abolished forthwith.
