Outlaw political advertisements on the federal, state, and local levels.

Created by M.M. on November 13, 2012

Political ad campaigns have become increasingly misleading, negative, and often avoid getting a concrete message across in favor of catering to emotional triggers.

Time is purchased by super-pacs and campaigns to run these ads during popular programming or placed on billboards in high traffic areas. They impede and annoy, and at their worst, lie and mislead. They're largely unavoidable.

Instead of using commercials, politicians and super-pacs can have a website, speak in-person, conduct interviews, participate in debates, and publish one simple, point-by-point summary of their policies. All of these things may be recorded and published to the internet or handed out in person. Nothing else is necessary.
