Dear President Obama and the White House Administration:
I am petitioning to have the oil extraction process known as "fracking" to be banned within the United States. A recent report by the EPA has confirmed billions of gallons of fracking waste water in California's Aquifers, while at the same time the state is experiencing a terrible drought.
Fracking is the reason for the DC/Metro area earthquake in 2011 that cracked the Washington Monument and damaged the National Cathedral, both requiring costly repairs afterward.
It is in our nation's best interest to ban this dangerous process and focus on alternative energy sources, such as solar and wind. Banning fracking will ensure our nation sets an example for the world, showing that the greatest nation has the smallest carbon footprint
