outlaw the practice of neonatal circumcision

This petition has been created to end the cruel and unusual practice of neonatal circumcision for men as well as women, as those who have signed this petition recognize the fact that it lacks a medical purpose and violates the child's rights to health, safety, the child's right to well being and can lead to illness and death. When done for religious reasons, it also impedes the child's right to religious freedom as the child may grow up to join a different faith or abandon it all together and they may not have wanted the procedure conducted. And finally, the practice, its great health risks and negligible health benefits is often conducted before they are old enough to give consent and thus have no say in the mater which interferes with their health, sexual freedom, body image, and rights.
