Outlaw retail businesses from starting Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving Day.

Created by C.C. on November 04, 2013

Thanksgiving was supposed to be set aside as a day to be thankful for what we have, to spend time with family and friends. Thanksgiving as we know it today is rapidly becoming a time to covet what we do not have, to wait in line, pushing and shoving and sometimes even fatally trampling our fellow human beings, all in the name of cheap plastic objects which are marked up the rest of the year anyway. With Kmart opening at 6 AM Thanksgiving Day and staying open for 41 straight hours this year, and many other stores opening during dinner hours on Thanksgiving, things are spiraling out of control. Outlaw Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving, or at least make it mandatory for employers to schedule their employees on a voluntary basis on Thanksgiving, and paid at least time and a half, if not more.
