Buying and selling debt creates a hostile environment for citizens and allows companies to ruin peoples credit while extorting money from them. Debt buying companies use bully tactics, short hours and more to swindle debtors.
The practice of selling debt obscures important financial situations and puts families in danger. Also debts that are paid off are not well communicated and debt collectors continue to seek payment on bills that are paid.
