Outlaw Sex Offender Registration

Created by C.K. on September 23, 2011

Make no mistake, sex related crimes are horrible.

If an individual is convicted of a sex related crime, they should be dealt with severely and incarcerated.

This incarceration should include rehabilitation.

So being, if an individual serves their time and is rehabilitated, they should be released back into society. This includes having the same right to privacy as anyone else in society.

Requiring registry as a sex offender list abrogates much of the right to privacy.

Sex offender lists are inherently problematic, as they carry a strong social stigma and some are even required to register for absurd reasons, such as urinating in public.

Instead, the release from prison for criminals of sex related crimes should be contingent upon rehabilitation.

Repeat offenders should serve life.
