Overdose and Addiction Warning for Prescription Painkillers

Opioid or narcotic pain relievers, including drugs such as Vicodin (hydrocodone), OxyContin (oxycodone), Opana (oxymorphone), and methadone cause 15,000 overdose deaths a year, four times the rate in 1999. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention states that prescription painkillers kill more people than heroin and cocaine combined, and that enough prescription painkillers were prescribed in 2010 to medicate every American adult around-the-clock for a month (for more info, see their website http://www.cdc.gov/vitalsigns/PainkillerOverdoses/?wvsessionid=wvb00adbd...) We are suggesting that the bottles for these medications be labeled with an addiction and overdose warning directly on the bottle, so that people will have a better chance of understanding these risks
