The Current tax law has become so convoluted with loop holes, exemptions, tax cuts, tax increases, extensions, expirations etc. That the government is spending billions in order to inefficiently police the system. Every adjustment to the current tax code makes it harder for people to understand the tax codes themselves, and requires more IRS employees in order to deal with the increased paperwork. I believe our elected officials need to start anew and create a new set of tax codes in order to better serve the country at this time.
If the government creates an entirely new tax code they will not be closing loopholes, but instead ensuring that they do not exist. and ensuring that big business and wealthy Americans are in fact paying their fair share.
