Marijuana is a threat to the American public. It has been shown to be extremely unhealthy, with side effects including an increased chance of developing schizophrenia at an older age. Legalization could also attract criminals from other countries, creating international problems.
Multiple states have legalized marijuana possession, but it is still illegal federally. The federal government needs to be more consistent and protect the public by overruling the state legalization of marijuana.
