Linking Pepe the Frog to racism and anti-Semitic connotations is a travesty, adjudicating this travesty through the Anti-Defamation league is an outrage and needs to be addressed. The ADLs decision falsely propagates a culture of racism and bigotry around Americans who utilize Pepe to express themselves in a positive manner.
Consequently, this statement released by the ADL, "it is important to examine the meme only in context...if it appears in a context containing bigoted or offensive language or symbols then it may have been used for hateful purposes." Could be applied to literally any form of media, and is not acceptable criteria to determine a meme, such as Pepe the Frog, as symbol for hate, as any meme, any where can be used for hateful purposes. Pepe should not be singled out.
