We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Overturn Buck v. Bell

Created by B.R. on September 28, 2016

In 1929, an era in which the treatment of people with disabilities was horrid at best, the United States Supreme Court upheld "a statute instituting compulsory sterilization of the unfit..."

In this case, "unfit" was the term used to describe people with intellectual disabilities, along with "imbecile". In other words, this ruling legalized the forceful sterilization of people with disabilities. It sparked the eugenics movement in the United States, which led to an unprecedented of sterilizations/murders. It also directly influenced Adolf Hitler, Aktion T4, and the Holocaust.

As of September 28th, 2016, this decision has never been officially overturned by the United States Supreme Court. On behalf of every American with a disability, I implore you to officially overturn this ruling.
