OVERTURN California state 1933 law making the Importation and possession of domestic ferrets illegal.

Created by T.S. on March 31, 2013

Importation and possession of domestic ferrets have been restricted California since 1933, when the first State law restricting the importing of animals into the California was passed. The Department of Fish and Wildlife does not have the authority to remove an animal from the list of restricted species but the White House can overturn this CA law. This law on ferrets is based on no research or facts but based on opinion.

The California Fish and Wildlife Department fears that pet ferrets, a nonnative species, could escape, go feral and prey on native species and out-compete them for food. This no data or research on this matter and ferrets are legal in 48 other states and these states.

Ferrets are wrongfully classified as wild animals under California's Department of Fish & Game. Th
