Overturn the law that doubled student loan interest rates

Created by A.Y. on December 29, 2013

As of June 2013, student loan interest rates have doubled.
Over 20% of students who take out student loans are African Americans and many are Latin Americans as well.
Many students, especially students from lower income backgrounds, fear taking out a student loan because of the interest rates they would have to pay back and this decreases their desire to continue their education after high school.
These doubled interest rates mean that students would have to pay up to $1000 more than they would have, when students are even struggling to pay back the initial loan interest rates
We urge congress to pass legislation to overturn the law that doubled them.
